Vijay Kumar

Vijay Kumar is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in the field of microwave remote sensing and electromagnetic modeling. Vijay served as a Professor and Associate Professor at Vellore Institute of Technology from January 2013 to August 2022. Prior to this, Vijay was a DST Sponsored Scientist and Research Scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, from August 2005 to January 2013, and also held the position of Visiting Researcher at Northern Research Institute Tromso, Norway, from August 2009 to March 2010. Vijay's career began with a role as a Project Trainee at the Space Applications Centre, ISRO, from September 2004 to April 2005. Academic qualifications include a PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, specializing in microwave remote sensing, and an M.Tech from the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, with a focus on radar imaging and satellite technologies.
