Jaret Matthews has extensive experience in the space industry, having worked in various roles at NASA, Pratt & Whitney Liquid Rocket Propulsion, SpaceX, and Venturi Astrolab, Inc. Jaret started their career as an RL-10 Rocket Engine Test Engineer at Pratt & Whitney Liquid Rocket Propulsion in 2000 before becoming a researcher at Purdue University Rocket Propulsion Lab and NASA Haughton Mars Project. Jaret then worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Robotics/Mechanical Engineer from 2003 to 2012, before joining SpaceX as Manager of the Dragon Mechanisms Group. In 2019, they founded Venturi Astrolab, Inc., where they currently serve as CEO.
Jaret Matthews earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Purdue University in 2001. Jaret then attended the International Space University from 2002-2003, where they earned a Master of Space Studies degree. Later, in 2004, they began taking Master's coursework in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, which they completed in 2010.
