Nick Daynes

Nick Daynes is an experienced mechanical engineer specializing in battery design and electric vehicle technology. Currently serving as the Battery Mechanical Design Team Lead at Vertical Aerospace since May 2022, Nick utilizes six years of expertise in electric vehicles and battery packs to develop fully electric passenger aircraft. Prior experience includes roles at Dyson, where Nick held positions as Senior Research Manager and Research Manager for Battery Packs, leading teams to deliver next-generation battery solutions for various products. Earlier roles at BP involved mechanical engineering for maintenance shutdowns and integrity management, and Nick's career began after a prestigious commission with the British Army. Nick holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol.
