Joan Burt

Joan Burt has extensive experience in the field of technical services and information technology, serving as the Technical Services Coordinator for Virginia Beach City Public Schools since August 1991. In this role, Joan is responsible for planning, designing, and maintaining the division’s technical support services and IT systems while also providing training for Technology Support Technicians. Previously, Joan held the position of Systems Engineer Supervisor, managing two data centers and overseeing a network of 400 Windows Servers across multiple sites in Virginia Beach. Earlier experience includes working as a Child Care Worker and Group Leader at Jackson-Feild Group Home from 1988 to 1990. Joan holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University and has also attended Radford University and ECPI University.
