Wei Luo

Wei Luo is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in leadership and research within the fields of chemistry and biosensors. Currently serving as Team Lead and Senior Scientist at Vital Bio since September 2021, Wei Luo previously held significant roles at CPQ Medicine as a Board Member and Editor. Wei Luo led a sensor team at Zergo (formerly SannTek Labs) from November 2019 to July 2021, where key contributions included the development of a THC biosensor for government compliance. Prior experience includes a tenure as Senior Scientist at Bio-Rad Laboratories (Canada) Ltd., where innovative work increased transfection efficiency for CD8+ T cells and resulted in marketing applications. Academic roles include a Research Associate position at York University, supervising research and mentoring, and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, focusing on biodegradable materials for tissue engineering. Wei Luo holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BS in Materials Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China.
