Robert Hesslein

Robert Hesslein currently serves as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Voyager Therapeutics, Inc., a position held since April 2019. Prior to this role, Robert was Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Foundation Medicine, Inc. from May 2012 to March 2019, where responsibilities included overseeing all legal services and serving as the secretary to the Board of Directors. Robert’s experience also includes serving as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Genzyme Corporation from July 1996 to May 2012, responsible for non-IP legal services across various business units, and as Second Vice President and Counsel at The New England from 1990 to 1996, focusing on corporate support for investment activities. Robert began his career at Csaplar & Bok, where as an associate and partner from 1978 to 1990, responsibilities included commercial finance and securities law compliance. Robert holds a JD from Cornell Law School and a BA in Urban Studies from Yale University.
