Prior to this, Tijs held the position of System Engineer at Contec from January 2000 to March 2008, focusing on consultancy, support, and programming of PLC, HMI, and networks across various industries, including major companies such as Arcelor-Mittal, Procter & Gamble, DEME, and Merck Sharp & Dohme. Tijs achieved a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from bme gent between 1998 and 2000.
