Manu Chandran

Manu Chandran, Ph.D., serves as the Computer Vision and Algorithm Team Manager at Wabtec Corporation since April 2022, where leadership encompasses a team of over 10 skilled professionals and direction-setting for the global computer vision team within Wabtec Wayside Inspection. Previously, from October 2018 to April 2022, Manu held the role of Senior Machine Vision Engineer at Trimble Inc., focusing on computer vision product development and expertise in image processing, 3D point clouds, traditional machine learning, and deep learning. Academic background includes a Ph.D. from the University of Florida (2013-2018), with research centered on feature selection, machine learning applications in computer vision, and improvement of GPS-INS systems, and a Master’s degree from the same institution (2008-2010) with a thesis on machine learning and feature selection.
