Contributing Faculty, Counselor Education at Walden University

Astrid Carrington, PhD, LMFT-S, serves as a Contributing Faculty member in Counselor Education at Walden University since June 2024 and as an Adjunct Professor in Counselor Education at the Seminary of the Southwest from August 2023 to May 2025. In addition, Astrid Carrington has been a Senior Clinician at Austin Family Care since 2013 and previously held the position of Assistant Professor of Counseling at St. Edward's University from September 2018 to December 2020. Astrid Carrington also served as Interim Executive Director at BioBehavioral Research of Austin in 2017 and held an adjunct faculty role at St. Edward's University from 2016 to 2017. Earlier in the career, Astrid Carrington directed the Intensive Outpatient Program at Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling from Capella University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Practical Theology from Howard Payne University.
