Joyce Hammer

Joyce Hammer currently serves as the Deputy Executive Director for Education at the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, a position held since July 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Vice President of Instruction at Centralia College (April 2019 - July 2023), Director of Transfer Education at the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (May 2014 - April 2019), and Dean of Transfer Education at Green River College (September 1998 - April 2014). Joyce Hammer began their career as a K-12 Teacher in the South Kitsap School District from August 1989 to June 1993. Joyce Hammer holds a Ph.D. in Adult Higher Education/Community College Leadership from Oregon State University, a Master of Education in Mathematics Education from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Washington. Additional qualifications include a teaching certification from Gonzaga University.
