Michael Botros is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as an Electrical Engineering Team Member and Team Lead at Waterloo Aerial Robotics Group since September 2022. Previous roles include internships at Tesla as both an Infotainment Hardware Engineer Intern and an Autopilot Hardware Engineering Intern, as well as experience as a Junior Automation Engineer at Kraken Sense and a Hardware Manufacturing Engineering Intern at S.G. Smallwood Inc. Additionally, Michael has worked in robot assembly and testing at Swap Robotics and served as a 3D Printing Engineering Technician at the University of Waterloo. Michael is pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering at the University of Waterloo, expected to graduate in 2026.

The University of Waterloo Aerial Robotics Group (WARG) is a student design team at the University of Waterloo competing in the Unmanned Systems Canada Student UAS Competition. We are a passionate group of students focused on innovating the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle industry. We take pride in building everything ourselves, from the autopilot and computer vision software, to the custom designed ZeroPilot board that we use on our aircraft.
