Distinguished Professor Of Psychology And Gerontology at Wayne State University

Peter Lichtenberg is a distinguished professor of psychology and gerontology at Wayne State University, where Peter has served since April 1999. In addition to his teaching role, Lichtenberg is the director of Gerontology and the Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute, a research and education unit focused on children's health and development. Prior to this role, Lichtenberg was the chair of the Michigan Dementia Coalition from January 1999 to April 2009, working to enhance the lives of individuals with dementia and their caregivers. Lichtenberg holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University, completed from 1981 to 1986, and a degree from Washington University in St. Louis, earned from 1977 to 1981.
