Scott Barlowe serves as a Professor of Computer Science at Western Carolina University since August 2013, where courses taught include Computer Organization and Design, Data Structures, and Internet Security and Ethics. Significant contributions include expanding a course to incorporate additional mathematics and data science topics in Fall 2016. Prior to this, Scott Barlowe was the Program Head for Simulation and Game Development at Stanly Community College from April 2006 to July 2013, where a successful grant proposal facilitated the establishment of the program. Earlier experience includes a role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Appalachian State University and as an Industrial Engineering Technician at WestPoint Stevens. Scott Barlowe holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an M.S. in Computer Science from Appalachian State University.
