Frank Macek is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in broadcasting and multimedia journalism. Since June 1994, Macek has served as Senior Broadcast Director at WKYC-TV/TEGNA Media, directing key broadcasts and overseeing the Production Department as Production Manager. Prior roles include contributions as a Programming Assistant and Music Scheduler at Jones Radio Networks, and impactful on-air positions across various Cleveland radio stations including WNWV-FM, WDOK-FM, and WRMR-AM. Macek's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Cleveland State University, earned cum laude. This breadth of experience highlights Macek's expertise in directing, producing, and curating engaging content across multiple media platforms.

We are a station with a history of firsts, including the first television station in Northeast Ohio to offer programming in color, the first to add closed captioning for hearing-impaired viewers and the first to broadcast a digital signal. Our alumni have gone on to inform and entertain generations by anchoring network newscasts and shining in Hollywood’s spotlight. The landscape of local broadcast television is constantly evolving.
