Andrew Maffei

Andrew Maffei is a Senior Information Systems Specialist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, where since November 1983, Andrew has led the development of a data and knowledge informatics infrastructure to assist scientists in their research. Andrew also managed a four-person ocean informatics working group and fostered collaborations with external data informatics and eScience experts to enhance informatics and data science initiatives. Prior to this role, Andrew worked as a Software Engineer at Intermetrics from March 1980 to November 1983, contributing to the design of a FORTRAN77 compiler and implementing key storage and optimization phases. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Boston College, earned between 1975 and 1979.
