Peta Sheerwood

Peta Sheerwood is a seasoned meteorologist with extensive experience in broadcasting and weather forecasting. Currently serving as a meteorologist at WPLG since April 2024, Peta previously held meteorologist positions at WRAL from February 2019 to March 2024, WOWT NBC Omaha from October 2016 to February 2019, and KOLN/KGIN-TV from July 2015 to September 2016. Peta's responsibilities have included delivering on-air forecasts, creating weather graphics, analyzing atmospheric data, and engaging with viewers through social media. Peta holds a Master of Science in Geosciences from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication with a minor in Geography from the University of Florida, along with additional credentials in climatology and meteorology.
