Grant Shoebridge

Grant Shoebridge has a diverse work experience in the field of intellectual property. Grant started their career as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 1998 and later moved on to work as a Research Scientist at Institut de Biochimie in Switzerland. At Institut de Biochimie, they developed high throughput fluorescent assays using fluorescent resonance energy transfer (FRET) as a nanosensor. Grant then joined Centenary Institute as a National Health and Medical Research Centre Senior Research Officer before working as a Researcher at Apollo Life Sciences, where they prepared patent applications and conducted prior art searching. After that, they became a Lecturer/Instructor at the University of Technology, Sydney, where they coordinated and taught a course focused on the interpretation and validity of patent specifications. Grant also worked as a Lecturer for Genes and the Law at UNSW Australia. Grant gained extensive experience in the field of intellectual property as a Senior Associate and later as a Partner/Principal at Shelston IP, specializing in pharmaceutical and biotechnology-related intellectual property matters. Currently, they hold the position of Principal at Wrays | Intellectual Property.

Grant Shoebridge completed their Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Molecular Biology and Organic Chemistry from Macquarie University from 1982 to 1987. Grant then pursued a PhD in Molecular Immunology at the University of Technology Sydney from 1994 to 1998. Later, they obtained a Masters of Industrial Property in Intellectual Property from the University of Technology Sydney from 2005 to 2007.
