Program Director Teens In Print at WriteBoston

Mohamed Barrie has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Mohamed currently serves as the Program Director for the Teens In Print writing program at WriteBoston, where they amplify the marginalized voices of Boston students. Mohamed previously worked as a Columnist for Sociaal.Net and as a Journalist for StampMedia.

In addition, Mohamed has been a Guest Lecturer at Thomas More University College since 2017, where they teach courses on topics such as the impact of whiteness, the African diaspora, racism, and black consciousness. Mohamed has also worked as a Co-Coordinator for Black History Month Belgium, creating partnerships and organizing events to increase awareness and visibility of Black History Month.

Furthermore, Mohamed has been involved with City Pirates, where they served as a Coordinator and Sports Coach. Mohamed managed the establishment of the Girls soccer program, coached the under 16 girls team, and implemented training tools and techniques to improve athletic performance.

Lastly, they worked as a Social-Cultural Worker at VOEM for a period of time.

Mohamed Barrie pursued their education at Karel de Grote-Hogeschool from 2012 to 2015. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Social Work.
