Jon Hardee is a highly experienced Chief Engineer with a robust background in radio and audio engineering, spanning over three decades. Currently serving as Chief Engineer at North Carolina Public Radio-WUNC since April 2017, Jon Hardee previously held the position of Assistant Chief Engineer at iHeartMedia, where responsibilities included transmitter replacement and studio reconstruction. An independent contractor as d.b.a. Jon Hardee from 1986 to 2011, Jon constructed and maintained radio broadcast facilities. Earlier roles include Chief Engineer positions at WRBZ/WDNC and WRBZ, focused on technical operations, project management, and studio and transmitter environments. With foundational experience at various stations including WKIX and WMZQ, Jon holds a Bachelor's degree in Radio, Television and Film from the University of Maryland.
