Pete Koomen is a seasoned technology entrepreneur and investor, currently serving as a Group Partner and Visiting Group Partner at Y Combinator since April 2022. Prior to this role, Pete co-founded Optimizely in January 2010, a company dedicated to enhancing digital experiences for businesses. Additionally, Pete co-founded CarrotSticks, focused on interactive learning tools for children, from May 2009 to June 2014. Earlier in their career, Pete worked as a Product Manager for Google App Engine from July 2006 to May 2009. Pete holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from Case Western Reserve University.
