Erik Eng

Erik Eng has a diverse and extensive work experience. Erik is currently working as the Data & AI Lead at ZeroNorth since 2022. Prior to that, they held various roles at IKEA from 2019 to 2022, including being the Data & Analytics Domain Manager for Fulfillment and Logistics, as well as the Data Science Chapter Lead. At IKEA, they led a team of 11 data scientists, co-led the data science chapter, and drove high-impact use cases in supply chain optimization. Erik also initiated the development of an internal data science model deployment platform.

Before joining IKEA, Erik worked at McKinsey & Company from 2012 to 2019. During their time there, they served as a Digital Expert in the Digital Labs practice, leading teams of data scientists to build decision support tools. Erik also worked as a Digital Technology Specialist, collaborating with consulting teams to develop solutions using data-driven technologies. Prior to that, they were an Associate in McKinsey's business technology practice, where they worked in small teams across industries and countries to improve client performance.

Additionally, Erik has experience as a University Lecturer at Lund University, as well as being self-employed as a Technical Consultant. Erik also worked as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at the California Institute of Technology and as a Purchasing Assistant/Analyst at Sony Ericsson.

Erik Eng earned a PhD in Automatic Control from The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University, completing their studies from 2006 to 2011. Prior to that, they obtained an Msc in Engineering Mathematics from the same institution, studying from 1999 to 2005. Additionally, Erik Eng pursued a Master's degree in Cognitive Science from Lund University, which they completed between 2001 and 2005. Erik also holds several certifications, including as a Certified Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance, obtained in 2018, and certifications in R Programming and Introduction to Data Science from Coursera in 2015 and 2014, respectively. Erik has also completed a course in Machine Learning through Coursera in 2014.
