Truman Hirkala-Schaefer

Truman Hirkala-Schaefer is a Senior Research Associate at Zymeworks Inc., specializing in medicinal chemistry and antibody-drug conjugates since March 2020. Previous roles at Zymeworks include a Graduate Student Intern in medicinal chemistry, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of chemical payloads and drug linkers. Earlier experience includes serving as a Junior Researcher at the University of Victoria, working on nanoparticles in the van Veggel group. Truman holds a Master of Science in Natural Products Chemistry and Pharmacognosy from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Combined Major in Chemistry/Earth Sciences from the University of Victoria. Additionally, Truman completed the HMX Fundamentals online certificate program in Immunology at Harvard Medical School.
