Senior Photonics Engineer at ANELLO

Matt Grant has a strong background in photonics, with their most recent role being a Senior Photonics Engineer at ANELLO since 2022. Before that, they were a Doctoral Student in Photonics at Stanford University from 2016 to 2022, where they led a lab program on miniaturized optical gyroscopes and invented/patented a novel optical gyro with significant sensitivity enhancement. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia in 2014, where they co-invented a high-concentration fibrous-material aerosol generator and designed an automatic control system for a heat/mass exchanger experiment.

Matt Grant completed their education in a chronological order. Matt first attended The University of British Columbia from 2011 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Engineering Physics. Matt then pursued further studies at Stanford University, starting in 2016 and finishing in 2022. During their time at Stanford, Matt earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics. In addition, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering in 2020, also from Stanford University.
