Alison Rugar is a Postdoctoral Scholar at SandboxAQ since July 2022, specializing in diamond color centers and nanophotonics, with a focus on tin-vacancy centers. Previously, Alison served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Stanford University from August 2017 to June 2022, and as an Undergraduate Researcher at Cornell University from June 2014 to June 2017, where Alison designed magneto-optic Kerr effect microscopes and fabricated devices for magnetic skyrmions. Additional experience includes a research internship at UC Santa Barbara, focusing on diamond optomechanical resonators, and a summer internship at NASA Ames Research Center. Alison Rugar holds a PhD in Applied Physics from Stanford University and a BS in Engineering Physics from Cornell University.
