Jason Schmitt is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in engineering and software development, currently serving as the Senior Director of Engineering at BigCommerce since November 2015. Prior roles at BigCommerce include Director of Engineering, Senior Engineering Manager, and Engineering Manager. Prior to joining BigCommerce, Jason was the Head of Engineering at Joust Inc., spearheading the development of a social gamification platform. Jason's experience also includes being a Senior Software Manager at Phunware, Inc., and Director of Research & Development at Digby. Earlier career roles involved positions at Imagine Solutions, FileNet, IBM, Tristar Web Solutions, and Microcheck Systems. Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin, earned between 1997 and 2002.
