Cambridge Quantum Computing
Nick Kay has worked in the field of photonics research and development since 2016. Nick began their career at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) as a Higher Research Scientist, where their role involved providing all aspects of optical design, from determining initial requirements to tolerancing, and using Zemax and Mathematica to simulate the system in the design phase. In 2018, they joined Cambridge Quantum Computing as Head of Photonics Research and Development, and also held the role of Senior Optical Engineer.
Nick Kay attended Lancaster University from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained a Physics (MPhys) degree in Physics. Nick then continued their studies at Lancaster University from 2012 to 2016, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Physics (Nanoscience).
