Joshua Holst is a Visiting Professor at Colorado College since February 2016, specializing in ethnographic filmmaking and applied anthropology, with a focus on projects that support vulnerable populations. Previous roles include Training and Outreach Manager at the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking, Grassroots Development Fellow with the Inter-American Foundation, and Policy Analyst for the Coalition For A Safe Environment, where Joshua engaged with community groups and government agencies. As a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Arizona, research explored development decision-making and environmental issues across multiple regions. Joshua's experience also includes directing a video for the British Red Cross, co-producing an Electronic Press Kit for the National Association of Latino Independent Producers, and facilitating community involvement in bioterrorism preparedness with Pima County Health Department. Joshua holds a PhD and an MA in Applied Anthropology from the University of Arizona, a BA in Biology and Peace Studies from Gustavus Adolphus College, and an Emergency Medical Technician certification.
