Dan Xie

Dan Xie is an accomplished professional in the field of autonomous driving and software engineering, currently serving as a TLM in the Path Core Team at DiDi since July 2023. Previously, Xie held the position of Staff Software Engineer at Zoox, focusing on planning and control for autonomous vehicles. As an Engineering Manager at DiDi from March 2019 to July 2022, Xie led the Behavior Planning team, successfully scaling the behavior planning stack for Level 4 autonomous vehicles in complex urban environments. Earlier experience includes roles as a Senior Software Engineer at Zoox and Autodesk, and as a Co-Founder at NConnex, Inc., where innovative solutions in 3D reconstruction and augmented reality were developed. Xie's foundational research experience includes working at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, culminating in a PhD in Perceptual Robotics and Computer Vision.
