Michael Johnson

Michael Johnson is a seasoned professional in the field of fermentation process development, currently serving as the Senior Manager Fermentation Process Development Team Lead at dsm-firmenich since May 2023. Prior experience includes a similar position at DSM from February 2011 to May 2023, alongside significant roles in strain development and as a senior scientist. Johnson's earlier experience includes work as a scientist at Martek Biosciences, complemented by academic research at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where notable projects involved studying Staphylococcus aureus and biofilm formation. Johnson holds a Ph.D. and MS in Chemical & Biochemical Engineering, a BS in Chemical Engineering, and a certificate in Current Good Manufacturing Practices from the same university.
