Elisabeth Birkeland

Elisabeth Birkeland has extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as VP of Hydrogen and Low Carbon Solutions Technology Management at Equinor since March 2019, while also taking on several acting senior vice president roles in renewable energy and technology. Prior to her tenure at Equinor, Elisabeth spent nearly 18 years at Statoil, moving through various positions including VP of Exploration Technology and Exploration Manager, among others. Elisabeth began her career as an exploration geologist at Statoil from 1996 to 2001. Educationally, Elisabeth holds a Master's degree in Geology from the University of Tromsø, obtained from 1992 to 1996, and attended Høgskolen i Sogndal from 1990 to 1992.
