Willam Sandborn

William Sandborn is a renowned gastroenterologist who currently serves as an advisor at Escalier Biosciences. Willam previously spent nearly two decades as a professor of medicine and division chief at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, and they also served as a professor of medicine and vice chair of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Sandborn is a world-renowned expert in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and they have made significant contributions to the understanding and treatment of this condition. Willam has authored more than 700 scientific papers and book chapters, and they are regularly invited to give lectures on IBD around the world. In addition to their clinical and research work, Dr. Sandborn is also actively involved in medical education, and they have mentored many young gastroenterologists who have gone on to successful careers of their own.

William Sandborn completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences, followed by an internal medicine residency at Loma Linda University. Willam then received their Doctor of Medicine from Loma Linda University.

Escalier Biosciences is developing both topical and oral RORγt inverse agonists for the treatment of a broad spectrum of psoriasis patients – from the underserved mild-to-moderate patients that would benefit from a safe and effective topical RORγt therapeutic to the more moderate-to-severe patients that would benefit from a safe and effective oral RORγt drug in lieu of injectable biologic therapies targeting IL-17 and IL-23.
