Yannick Durand has extensive experience in IT systems and network security. Currently, at the European Union Agency for large-scale IT systems (eu-LISA), Yannick serves as the VIS & BMS Application Manager, overseeing the deployment of the Schengen VISA Information System and Biometric Matching System. Prior to this role, Yannick worked as an ICT Security Manager at Europol and held various other positions in IT security and network administration.

This is the official company page for the European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (eu-LISA). eu-LISA was established to manage large-scale information systems in the area of freedom, security and justice. It fulfils the operational management tasks for Eurodac, the Schengen Information System (SIS II) and the Visa Information System (VIS). The Agency thus supports the implementation of the EU's border management, asylum and migration policies. eu-LISA has also been entrusted with the preparation, development and operational management of the European Entry-Exit System (EES), the European Travel Information and Authorisation Systems (ETIAS) as well as the European Criminal Records Information System - Third Country Nationals (ECRIS-TCN) and ensure that both these and the already existing systems are interoperable. eu-LISA is responsible for keeping all the IT systems under its control permanently functional in order to allow continuous and uninterrupted exchange of data between national authorities.
