Kira Whitacre

Kira Whitacre is a highly experienced legal professional currently serving as Managing Director and Senior Counsel at Evercore since January 2020, where responsibilities include advising senior leadership and the board on a range of global risk, legal, and regulatory matters such as AI, cybersecurity, data privacy, operational resilience, and corporate disclosures related to climate reporting and Diversity & Inclusion. Prior to this role, Kira worked as a Litigation Associate at Fried Frank from October 2014 to December 2019, representing clients in securities and antitrust enforcement proceedings. Kira also held a Fried Frank Fellowship with Her Justice in 2015 and completed law clerk positions at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Southern Environmental Law Center, and the North Carolina Department of Justice. Additionally, Kira served as Deputy Director of Government Policy and Regulatory Affairs at Moore & Van Allen, PLLC from 2008 to 2010. Kira earned a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Virginia in Cultural Anthropology.
