Mate Ravasz

Mate Ravasz is a skilled bioinformatician currently working at Fios Genomics since February 2020 and serves as the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Algacraft, a Scottish biotech startup focused on innovative algal cultivation technologies. Ravasz has an extensive background in research, having held postdoctoral positions at The University of Edinburgh and the University of Southampton, where responsibilities included independent project design, data analysis, and student supervision. Prior experiences include roles as Lead Biologist for Lettuce on Mars, where a small automated greenhouse for Martian agriculture was developed, and as a Microbiologist at BioMONSTAAAR, contributing to a bioreactor project funded by SpaceGambit. Ravasz holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and an M.Sc. in Biology from Eötvös Loránd University.
