Brika P. Eklund

Brika P. Eklund serves as the Director of CDF Loan Portfolio Management at First Citizens Bank, leading a team dedicated to managing affordable housing loans and supporting partners throughout various loan stages. Previously, Eklund was the Vice President of Real Estate Development at Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., overseeing the execution and master planning of projects in the Research Triangle. Eklund also held the position of Vice President and Director of Real Estate at Self-Help, leading commercial real estate development for the largest community development financial institution in the U.S. Prior experiences include asset management roles at Boston Capital and project coordination at Traditional Neighborhood Development Partners, along with other positions in community-focused organizations. Eklund holds a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural History from Davidson College.
