Romeu Vieira

Romeu Vieira has extensive experience in geological exploration and resource evaluation, currently serving as Manager of Exploration at Fortescue Metals Group since October 2018, with previous roles as Principal and Senior Geologist within the same company. Prior experience includes a Senior Geologist position at Novo Litio Limited, where responsibilities encompassed regional exploration and drilling program definition. As a Geological Consultant, Romeu Vieira provided expertise in lithium mineralized pegmatites and was recognized as a Competent Person for reporting exploration results. Previous roles at Sojitz Corporation and various geotechnical and academic positions have contributed to a solid foundation in mineralogy, petrogenesis, and geological cartography. Romeu Vieira holds a PhD from Universidade do Porto, focusing on pegmatites and lithium exploration, along with multiple relevant qualifications in geology and mineral resources.
