James Barnard

James Barnard has a strong background in data science and research. James started their career as a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne in October 2011 and worked there until May 2016. After that, they joined Aconex as a Data Scientist from May 2016 to July 2017. James then moved to ERM Power where they served as a Lead Data Scientist from July 2017 to July 2020. Currently, they are the Head of Data Science at Gridcog, a company focused on developing software for a decentralized and decarbonized energy future.

James Barnard completed their education at two prestigious institutions. From 2000 to 2006, they attended the University of Cambridge, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Physics. Following that, from 2007 to 2011, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Elementary Particle Physics at Durham University. In addition to their formal education, in September 2015, James also obtained a certification in Kaggle Competitions Course from Dataquest.io.
