Hans Wolff is a distinguished medical professional with extensive experience in prison health and human rights. Currently serving as a Member and First Vice-President of the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) representing Switzerland at the Council of Europe since December 2013, Hans Wolff also holds the position of Professor and Head of the Division of Prison Health at Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève since April 2007. Additionally, Hans Wolff is the President of the Conference of Swiss Prison Doctors since January 2019 and served as the President of the Committee for Clinical Ethics at Geneva University Hospitals from July 2022 to December 2024. Hans Wolff earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Marburg, Germany, between 1984 and 1990.
