Abhishek Mahesh Appaji is a seasoned academic and industry professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles within IEEE and academia. Currently serving as the Treasurer for the IEEE Education Society and contributing to the IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter as an Execom Member, Vice Chair, and Treasurer, Appaji also holds significant positions at B. M. S. College of Engineering as an Associate Professor and Head of R&D. Additionally, Appaji is actively involved with multiple IEEE committees, including the Conference Finance Committee and the Conference Application Review Committee, and serves as Chair of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, Bangalore Chapter. With a Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience from Maastricht University, and multiple master's degrees in Bioinformatics and Information Technology, Appaji combines academic expertise with strong organizational skills, demonstrated by a long-standing commitment to enhancing diversity in signal processing and leading initiatives like TEDxBMSCE.

IEEE BANGALORE SECTION
IEEE Bangalore was established in 1977 and is one of the most vibrant Sections in India. Over the years, the strength of the section has grown steadily, and currently, the Section membership stands close to 20K members. This membership is spread across various sectors and is a nice blend of Industry, Academia, and Research organizations. Bangalore Section has 29 Society Chapters and two affinity groups. The chapters carry out focused activities in the respective areas by conducting technical talks under DLT, seminars, tutorials, workshops, etc. Apart from the Chapters, two affinity groups, viz. the Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD) and Women In Engineering (WIE), also carry out related activities. IEEE Bangalore and IEEE Princeton and Central New Jersey Sections had signed a MoU as sister sections.
