Jan-Willem van Klinken

Jan-Willem van Klinken, MD PhD MS FACN, currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for the ASN Foundation and is a member of the ILSI North America Scientific Advisory Board. As Senior Vice President of Medical, Scientific & Regulatory Affairs at Brightseed, Jan-Willem leads initiatives focusing on the use of artificial intelligence in nutritional health. Previous roles include Country Medical Director for GSK in the USA, where Jan-Willem managed the Wellness portfolio, and Senior Director of Global Medical Affairs for Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, driving medical innovation in nutrition-related products. Jan-Willem has a robust background in nutrition R&D from positions at PepsiCo and Unilever, along with a foundational experience as a Pediatrician in training. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Columbia University and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Amsterdam.
