Carla Danelutti is a highly experienced professional in ecosystem management and conservation with a focus on the Mediterranean region. Currently serving as the Regional Programme Coordinator for IUCN since March 2010, Carla is responsible for developing and managing IUCN's Mediterranean and North Africa Programme, as well as leading initiatives on spatial planning and ecosystem resilience. Prior roles at IUCN included Ecosystem Programme Officer, where Carla managed the DestiMED project, and Programme Assistant, contributing to numerous projects aimed at sustainable development in North Africa. In addition to this, Carla has served as the Executive Secretary of the MEET Network since January 2016, promoting ecotourism in protected areas. Earlier professional experiences include consulting on environmental safety and conducting research on air pollution. Carla holds a Master of Science in Forestry and Environmental Sciences from the University of Padova and a Bachelor of Science in Science and Technologies for Environment and Nature from the Università degli Studi di Udine.
