Lucretia Murphy has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Lucretia began their career as a Research Associate at the University of Michigan in 1998, where they were involved in various research projects. In 2004, they joined Jobs for the Future (JFF) as the Director of Youth Transitions, working on initiatives to support young people in transitioning into the workforce. After four years, they took on the role of Executive Director at the See Forever Foundation in 2008, leading the organization in its mission to provide education and career opportunities for disadvantaged youth. In 2013, Lucretia returned to JFF as a Senior Director, focusing on developing strategies to promote education and employment opportunities for low-income individuals. Over the years, they advanced within the organization, serving as Associate Vice President in 2021 and Vice President in 2022. Throughout their career, Lucretia has demonstrated their commitment to creating pathways for individuals to overcome barriers and achieve economic mobility.

Lucretia Murphy completed their Bachelor of Science in International Politics Law and Organization at Georgetown University from 1988 to 1992. Lucretia then pursued a Juris Doctor degree at The University of Texas at Austin from 1992 to 1995. Later, they attended the University of Michigan from 1998 to 2004, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Higher Education Policy.
