Kevala is looking for a Project Manager with experience managing projects within the energy or utility industry. This individual will focus on implementing professional service contracts sold alongside our SaaS data platform. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple discrete projects simultaneously in order to meet scoped deliverables on time and the goals of our clients. Kevala’s projects range from small projects with short turnaround times to larger multi-year contracts with many moving pieces. Our clients include utilities, regulators and energy market participants. Your experience, interests, and capabilities will determine the breadth of your responsibilities.

Key responsibilities will likely include:

  • Working in the sales cycle to understand client objectives, and assist in crafting initial scope, budget and timelines consistent with Kevala’s strategic plans
  • Creating detailed project plans, meeting delivery on milestone dates, managing resources and teams effectively, managing risks and dependencies
  • Leading customer engagement and translating client needs into internal development deliverables
  • Coordinating cross functional internal project teams to deliver high quality client deliverables
  • Effectively prioritizing competing activities in order to accomplish project and company goals
  • Performing project budgeting, cost tracking, and invoicing tasks in a matrixed team environment
  • Conduct research and analysis in support of the project goals
  • Compile results, write reports, and deliver findings
  • Supporting the overall team’s operations and growth goals by identifying and addressing needs/ gaps (for example, identifying business development opportunities, and/or team growth areas)

What you need to succeed

  • 4+ years experience in project management, operations management or consulting
  • Understanding or experience within the energy industry
  • Experience managing or working on client projects and cross-functional project teams
  • Demonstrated effective and flexible communication skills to audiences of varied technical backgrounds
  • Experience with contracting, invoice generation, and implementing contract compliance

What will make you stand out

  • Experience working with utilities or energy agencies
  • Energy or software related project implementation experience.
  • Knowledge of distributed energy resources including technology, regulation, and grid integration

Location

We are headquartered in San Francisco, but we embrace the virtual office and are continuing to grow our team across the United States.

Salary Range

$90,000-$125,000 (depending on location and experience)
