Mary Bates

Program Associate at Mellon Foundation

Mary Bates first joined the Foundation in 1997 as an executive and program assistant to the vice president of the Liberal Arts Colleges program. In 2004, she became a founding member and marketing manager for the Emeriti Retirement Health Solutions Consortium, serving until 2007, when she devoted herself to caring for her family full-time. Ms. Bates returned to the Foundation in 2011, and currently works with grantees in developing new grants. She holds a bachelor's degree in art from Carnegie Mellon University.
