Amy McDowell is Chief Legal Officer at the National Center for State Courts (NCSC). She is co-director of the Election Law Program (a joint initiative between NCSC and the William and Mary Law School) and oversees the Center for Judicial Ethics. Amy previously served in the Institute for Court Management and Knowledge & Information Services Divisions at NCSC. Prior to joining NCSC in 2007, Amy provided legal services for federal and local governments. Amy earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary, a law degree from the University of Richmond Law School and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Old Dominion University. Amy is a Fellow of the Institute for Court Management.
