Niall Barron is a highly experienced researcher and academic with a focus on bioprocessing and biotechnology. Currently serving as Principal Investigator at NIBRT National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training and as a Professor at University College Dublin since July 2017, Niall Barron previously held positions such as Senior Lecturer at Dublin City University from December 2014 to June 2017 and Director at the National Institute for Cellular Biotechnology from September 2001 to June 2017. Niall Barron has extensive expertise in mammalian cell engineering, genetic manipulation for biopharmaceutical production, and has contributed to advancements in diabetes therapy through embryonic stem cell research. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Microbial production of Biofuels from Ulster University and a BSc in Microbiology from Trinity College Dublin.
