Begum Yarar Kaplan is currently serving as a Research Fellow (RTDa) and Faculty Member at Università degli Studi di Padova since March 2024, while simultaneously holding the position of Principal Investigator at SUNUM-Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center since 2018. Between September 2020 and February 2024, Begum was a Lecturer at Sabancı University, following a role as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the same institution from 2017 to 2018, where involvement in the Graphene Flagship Project took place. Begum received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Materials Engineering from Sabancı University in 2017 and another Doctor of Philosophy degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Vanderbilt University in 2016. Additionally, a Master of Science in Polymer Chemistry was earned from Hacettepe University in 2013, complemented by a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry from the same institution in 2010.
