Nature's Fynd
Operations · Contract · Chicago, United States
Nature’s Fynd is a groundbreaking food tech company born out of NASA-supported research on extremophiles in the geothermal pools of Yellowstone National Park. Our novel fermentation technology produces a sustainable source of complete protein using only a fraction of the resources required by traditional agriculture. As the challenge to feed the world’s expanding population grows, our mission is to create amazing foods and materials that provide sustainable choices and nurture the planet.
We’re looking for passionate, driven, and ambitious people to join our fast-growing team.
This position will be located at 2075 W 43rd St, Chicago, IL 60609.
With contracts in place with multiple luxury brands, along with parallel thrusts to expand our presence in both the luxury and automotive spaces, enhance our internal coating performance, and scale our external finishing processes in Mexico, hiring a Finishing Technician is critical to meeting the increased demand and scope of work. This technician will be responsible for handling materials for brand engagements (20-50 sq ft per week) and will also contribute to DOE and process development work, which involves high R&D complexity, though limited material volume. The role requires managing several intricate variables, such as surface uniformity, thickness, color, performance, and formulation, while coordinating effectively with downstream technical staff and communicating with BD and Creative teams as needed.
A bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science is preferred, given the chemistry involved, but we are willing to train the right candidate who brings other essential skill sets. While experience in spray finishing is a plus, we understand this might be rare in recent graduates. We're open to candidates with equivalent practical experience, even without a formal degree.
