Born in Spain in 1961, MD and Ph.D. degrees in Neurophysiology from the Albert Ludwigs University in Germany. He is the Principal Investigator of the Center for Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation and Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Boston, USA). He is a world leader in the development of brain stimulation technologies (TMS and tDCS).
