Azwar Thamrin has extensive experience in the drilling and blasting sector, currently serving as Group Leader Blasting and Drilling & Blasting Technical Officer at Pamapersada Nusantara since July 2018. In this role, Azwar is responsible for making drilling and blasting recommendations, evaluating blast results, managing explosives, and overseeing cost control. Previously, Azwar participated in the Fresh Graduate Development Program at Pamapersada, where project improvement initiatives were conducted to address site challenges. Earlier professional experience includes serving as an Assistant Laboratory in Geology Remote Sensing and as the Chairman of Advocacy for Pangea Cruiser, an organization focused on geology-based outdoor activities. Azwar holds a Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta, completed in 2017.

PT Pamapersada Nusantara (PAMA) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PT United Tractors Tbk, a major distributor of Komatsu heavy equipment in Indonesia. PT Astra International Tbk, the major shareholder of PT United Tractors Tbk, is one of the largest and most respected companies in Indonesia. The embryo of PAMA has commenced since 1974 in form of rental division at PT United Tractors, which engaged in construction project, mining and oil project, land preparation and logging. In 1993 this division changed into an independent company named PT Pamapersada Nusantara. Currently PAMA actively manages numerous coal mines. PAMA has also own some subsidiaries, under the name of PT Kalimantan Prima Persada (KPP) and PT Prima Multi Mineral (PMM).
